Nokia once was a giant during the initial phase of mobile phones. Then Android phones have arrived in the market, and all the app developers have started to develop android applications. Android applications were available in the Android marketplace, and a large number of them, such as Instagram, facebook were available at free of cost. But Nokia was still depending on its Symbian operating system and did not opt for Android. Then Nokia was bought by Microsoft, who have tried to promote their own Windows Phone mobile operating system through a Nokia handset. When an ecosystem was created between smartphone hardware manufacturer, Android OS developer, and Android app developer, Nokia has started to lose its position as the number one brand in the Global market.
Nokia was bought by HMD Global Oly from Microsoft in 2016. After HMD acquired Nokia, they have gone into a phase of transformation. They have started manufacturing smartphones that are not only good in performance but also are cost-efficient. They have launched a few excellent phones in recent time.
